Mufasa: The Lion King garnered only $35 million during its 3-day opening weekend, revealed Luiz Fernando’s report. The film’s earnings fell short of the already modest projections of $48–$52 million. According to reports, its earnings are 5.5 times lower than those of the 2019 film. For the uninitiated, the first weekend of The Lion King brought in $191.8 million.

Mufasa made a respectable $87.2 million in its first five days of business across all 54 markets. But Sonic the Hedgehog 3 hasn’t been released abroad yet. It was once expected to make between $177 and $192 million globally, but with the underwhelming first-day receipts, it was estimated to make between $110 and $127 million.
